Some things just don’t come easy…..including this short sale approval…

HOME SALE CHALLENGE:

Our unbelievably sweet and charming retiring Hamden, CT homeowner found herself in a position to have to move to senior housing, but upside down in her home. After attempts to sell at fair market proved unsuccessful, she realized her best option was to pursue a short sale, so she called us.

REID REAL ESTATE GROUP APPROACH:

Our seller had a single loan on the property – with OCWEN – one of our current favorites. We anticipated an easy breezy road ahead…..

RESULTS:

Never count on an easy road! It took much longer than expected to secure a buyer for the property….And after securing the buyer – the sale fell apart soon after….leaving us back on market to secure another. Our second buyer came soon after – and OCWEN moved quickly to approve the sale….APPROVAL IN HAND WE PREPARED TO CLOSE!

UNTIL…

OCWEN sold our loan away days before close..to Seterus….

Seterus is off and on….thankfully this time they were half on…as it only took about 3 more weeks for us to convince them to redo an approval letter –

AND SO WE CLOSED, with our seller walking gracefully away to a new chapter in her life!

  Minna was the best thing that happened to us in a very long time. We’ve been planning on moving from on house and on with our lives and the house was simply an anchor. We’ve had two liens on the house that would take a long time to cure and we were forced to sell the house to settle with the bank. I’ve looked around for someone who specializes in short sales, not just an agent that did 2-3. The process took a while, but Minna was super persistent, and her strategic approach was close to none. We have lost two buyers, got a push backs from the back and lean holders and she was able to stay on top of it and at the same time, she kept us afloat emotionally.
